A North Pole man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sexually abusing two minors in 2016 and 2021.
Beniah Marchildon, 25, faces charges of felony first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, felony second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and felony second-degree sexual assault.
Marchildon is accused of raping a sleeping 5-year-old in 2016. Later that summer Marchildon reportedly inappropriately touched the child.
The child told a parent in 2023 that Marchildon inappropriately touched them. The parent confronted Marchildon over the phone and in text messages, and Marchildon reportedly apologized.
In 2021, Marchildon reportedly threatened to incapacitate a 16-year-old with chloroform. Later that night, the teenager felt like they were under anesthesia and passed out. The woke up the next morning in pain. Marchildon reportedly admitted to sexually abusing the 5-year-old to the teenager in 2023.
According to troopers, Marchildon was previously convicted of sexually abusing a minor.
District Court Judge Matthew Christian set Marchildon’s bail at $250,000 and ordered house arrest.
“The allegations are chilling,” Christian said Wednesday.
