Two months after winning a U.S. national title in the women’s 20-kilometer classic, UAF senior Kendall Kramer won the 20-kilometer freestyle mass start at the 2025 NCAA Skiing Championships on Saturday, once again defeating Utah freshman Erica Laven.
Kramer’s finishing time in Hanover, New Hampshire was 50 minutes and 14 seconds, putting her 36 seconds clear of the rest of the field. On Thursday, she placed ninth in the 7.5k classic for her fifth straight season with a top-10 finish at the NCAA Skiing Championships.
Prior to Saturday, her best NCAA Championships finish was a runner-up result at the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Running Championships.
UAF sophomore Ben Dohlby joined Kramer as a first-team All-American, completing the race in 45 minutes and 40 seconds to finish fourth. Utah senior Joe Davies, a former Nanook, won the men’s NCAA title in 43:34.
UAF junior Philipp Moosmayer earned his second second-team All-American honor of the week, placing ninth in a time of 46:07. He finished seventh in the 7.5k classic Thursday. Neither he nor Dohlby had earned an All-American finish prior to this week.
UAF freshman Cole Flowers finished 27th in the men’s 20k freestyle. UAF sophomore Tabitha Williams placed 21st in the women’s 20k freestyle.
UAF placed 10th overall in the team standings and was the only team in the top 10 that doesn’t have an alpine ski team. UAF finished fifth in the nordic standings, as both the Nanook men and women placed sixth. Utah won the national team title and had the top nordic score.
