With the General Election less than one month away, the deadline for submitting letters to the editor and community perspective pieces about candidates, ballot measures and judges will be here sooner than you think.
We will attempt to publish as many letters as possible before we head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5, but there are some things letter writers need to know.
The deadline for submitting letters and perspectives is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. The last day letters of political support will print is Sunday, Nov. 3. No election letters or election community perspectives will print on Nov. 4 or 5. Letters to the editor must be no longer than 350 words, and each letter must include your name, city of residence and telephone number in case we have a question or need clarification on something in your submission (don’t worry — we won’t publish your phone number or address).
You can submit letters and community perspectives online at www.newsminer.com under the “opinion” tab, via email to letters@newsminer.com, or by mailing them to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, 200 N. Cushman St., Fairbanks, AK 99701.
