Pioneers of Alaska Museum at Pioneer Park
This circa-1950’s Fairbanks photo — probably taken from the top of the Polaris Building and facing north — contains Ron’s Service Station in the lower right corner, which is still standing today. Across the street where Noble Street meets Wendall Street is the Fairbanks swimming pool with the Griffin Park baseball field between the swimming pool and the Chena River. The mouth of Noyes Slough and Slaterville are in the background.
